Continuous Heat treatment line

Aluminum is ideal for use as aerospace plate because it is lightweight, flexible and recyclable.It is also becoming useful for the automotive industry which is looking to the same advantages.

To manufacture automotive and aerospace plates, aluminum producers have to process all cold rolled series of aluminum alloys strips with a thickness within 0.5 up to 4 mm.

Production of high strength and high ductile aluminum alloys requests a continuous heat treatment process to get the mechanical characteristics of the material.

The annealing and solution heat treatment is followed by the water quench, which allows production of high strength and high ductility heat treatable alloys. The air quench brings the coils to room temperature.

As such heat treatments of aluminum alloys requires temperatures more than 500°C close to the melting point of the material, the strip inside the furnace is transported with our Lay-on-air® technology.
