14 & 18 High Rolling Mills

In the further development of high-performance rollers, REDEX Group was able to achieve further advantages in the market with its multi-roller sets. With the so-called 14-Hi or 18-Hi cassettes, even more precise tolerances and even better surface qualities are achieved through even smaller dimensions of the work rolls.

The basic principle of the multi-roll systems is comparable to the Duo and Quarto rolling mills. With these systems, too, the production materials only come into contact with the 2 work rolls.

However, since these are significantly smaller in the corresponding diameters, a critical diameter-length ratio is quickly reached, which could lead to deflection or even breakage under corresponding loads.

To avoid this effect, the roller cassettes are equipped with either 7 or even 9 rollers at the top and bottom.
The corresponding arrangement of the rolls has only one task – the perfect support of the work roll.

This in turn leads to the corresponding results in the rolling process, in which our customers get the tightest tolerances and a perfect surface quality.

These technical solutions are often used in the electrical industry (for the production of resistors).
