There is a wide range of applications in the broad field of electronics and the electrical industry. In addition to the production of normal copper wire/copper cable, there are the so-called busbars and also magnet wire or enamelled wire.

Magnetic wire or enamelled wire is a copper or aluminium wire coated with a very thin insulating layer. It is used in the construction of transformers, motors, generators, electromagnets and other applications that require dense coils of insulated wire.

The wire itself is usually made of fully annealed, electrolytically refined copper. Aluminium magnet wire is sometimes used for large transformers and motors.
